Easter Long Weekend
This weekend was well needed. After the magazine project, I really needed a break.
After the Magazine Fair on Thursday, I started off my long weekend by going to the Billy Talent concert at the MTS Centre that evening.
The band is touring Canada once again to promote their fourth studio album called Dead Silence.
Needless to say, the concert was amazing! I love how their live performances always sound exactly the same as their recorded songs; they never let their fans down.
The Dead Silence Tour also consists of Sum 41, Hollerado, and Indian Handcrafts.
One thing that really stuck out for me during the concert was during one of the sets, lead singer Ben Kowalewicz explained how Billy Talent first started touring.
"When we weren't quite good enough to tour by ourselves, a band called Sum 41, gave us the chance to go on tour with them as their opening act," says Ben.
He shakes the sweat off his face.
"We are so thankful for bands like them."
As they started to play their next song, I stood among the mass of people amazed in how two of my favorite bands had helped each other grow.
Both Friday and Saturday were dedicated to filming my montage project. I was at the Maple Grove dog park trying to get as much footage as possible.
I enjoy filming so much that it didn't even seem like I was doing homework. But I don't want to give away my montage just yet (I'll post my montage once it's complete.)
I spent Sunday at my boyfriend's parents house near Albert Beach. I love being in the quiet country where there isn't the constant hum of traffic.
I brought my dog Freya out there with me so she could play with their dog Bowser. Its great to let the two of them run around and tire themselves out in a huge field. That night we had an Eater dinner with fresh fish, homemade fries, bannock, and coleslaw. It was delicious.
On Monday I helped a friend film her montage in the afternoon and ended the day watching my favorite TV series Game of Thrones.
This week was the opening episode of season 3, and for the past two weeks I have been re-watching the previous seasons to lead up to it.
It was the perfect way to end off the long weekend and to start back up to the hectic CreComm life for another month.
