What's Your Toad Flare?

For the most part, I have spent the majority of this semester working on a magazine project. I’ve dedicated numerous hours to interviewing people, writing articles, taking photos, creating ads and designing page layouts.  

This is a magazine advertisement I created for The Toad in the Hole Pub and Eatery.

To create this ad, I brainstormed ideas of what text and pictures I thought would best represent the Toad in the Hole. I went through 3 edits until finding the perfect text and image combo. 

I painted the background and the toad itself onto a canvas using acrylic and water colour paints. I decided to use a paint medium because I wanted my ad to have a multi-layered texture to it.

Once the canvas was dry, I took a photo of it and uploaded it into an Adobe InDesign document. From there I designed the lily pad logo and placed my text onto my picture.
