Bittersweet

In my free time I usually find myself scanning through pictures from either Pintrest.com or Piccsy.com. What I love about both these sites is the clean crisp photography that is posted. As I was scrolling down the pages I came across two pictures, one from each site.

I found the first image on Pintrest.com. It is of Vøringsfossen, Norway’s most magnificent waterfall.

What I love most about this photo is that the scene looks almost too beautifully whimsical to exist in our world. When I see images like this, it brings up a longing to travel and to see the world. I hope to one day be able to tour places such as this. Once I am finished my schooling, I would love to travel to New Zealand and throughout Europe to see the ancient castles and other architectural sites.

I found the second image on Piccsy.com. I love this picture because it reminds me of the bitter sweet aspect which fall carries along with it each year.

Autumn is created by the bare outstretched branches of the trees while the leaves are left to disintegrate on the forest floor. When looking at this image, I can almost feel a shiver of the brisk fall breeze crawl down my spine. The white wolf reminds me of the still winter and how it is so close but yet so far from arriving.

I think that I am also drawn to these images because they remind me of some of my favourite movies/ T.V series. When looking at Norway’s landscape, I can’t help but think of Lord of the Rings landscape. I love all the beautiful scenery in the trilogy which is why I want travel to New Zealand so badly (where it was filmed). I am also VERY excited to see the Hobbit when it finally comes out in December!

The second image of the white wolf, reminds me of the Stark family’s dire wolves in the T.V series called Game of Thrones.  I am absolutely addicted to this series and love its dark plot. I only wish that they would produce the upcoming episodes faster so there wouldn’t be such a huge gap between seasons.

I’d love to hear your thoughts of these images too!
